Terms of Use
Last updated 23 May 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to the website at getplinth.com.au (the "Site") and your use of the Plinth dual-regime property calculator and any related files, templates and updates (together, the "Calculator"). By accessing the Site or purchasing or using the Calculator, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Plinth is
Plinth is a downloadable spreadsheet tool that models Australian negative gearing and capital gains tax outcomes under both the pre-1-July-2027 and post-1-July-2027 rules. It is provided for general information only. It is not financial, taxation, legal or investment advice, and it does not take your personal circumstances into account.
You should obtain advice from a registered tax agent or a holder of an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) before making any financial decision.
2. Your licence to use the Calculator
When you purchase the Calculator, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own purposes. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, publish or commercially exploit the Calculator, in whole or in part, without our written permission.
3. Intellectual property
The Calculator, the Site, and all related content, design and branding are owned by Plinth or its licensors and are protected by law. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.
4. Accuracy and assumptions
The rates, thresholds and rules built into the Calculator are stated as current as at the dates shown within the file. Tax laws and government policy change, and the 2026 budget measures referenced may be amended before they take effect. Outputs are estimates only and depend entirely on the inputs and default assumptions you use. You are responsible for checking that the inputs and assumptions reflect your situation.
5. Provided "as is"
The Site and the Calculator are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, beyond the guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plinth is not liable for any loss, damage or cost (including any tax liability, investment loss or consequential loss) arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or the Calculator. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. These Terms operate alongside those rights and do not limit them. See our Refund policy for more.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above. Continued use of the Site or the Calculator after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
